Good deal for both sides. He's talking up getting this opportunity to be perhaps the teams #1 center & sounds very motivated & in shape so lets hope he stays healthy & breaks out for us now that he has his security.

It is a good price to pay your top line center, as long as he can produce like one

Zib's problem has always been consistency. Sometimes he's lights out, then for stretches he looks disinterested.

If he can find that next gear and stay there this will be a steal of a contract. It looked like he was there at the start of the season before that injury.
Time will tell.

Yup. Pretty much my thoughts.

Would love to see where he would end up point wise if he put it all together for 1 season. He has the tools.

I think the contract is fair to both sides.

I'm curious about reasons why Lias Andersson is "pencilled into" the lineup as a depth center?

He was viewed to be the closest to NHL ready. Hopefully he can start the season as the 4th line center.

Just my opinion... but as an 18/19 year old forward with a lot of talent and not a lot of size I think he'd be better off getting more minutes in Europe or the AHL.

for someone who has this tag according to those in Ottawa... he was extremely consistent with his scoring his last season with Ottawa.

His points by month were 8,8,7,8,8,8, and 4 in 4 games

home and road almost identical ... maybe the most consistent inconsistent player ever

I think they will figure it out during training camp. If he is out of his element I'm sure he will be sent down.

He actually has decent size. Not tall but apparently built like a fire hydrant. 5'11 and around 200lbs.

Why I said penciled because there is still two months until the season starts. In addition, even if he does begin the year with the Rangers, that doesn't mean he sticks for the whole year or even past the first month. Andersson will get a shot in training camp and his performance coupled with team needs and player development will determine if he stays.

He's not that small and he's already had success playing big minutes in the SHL. Maybe he is ultimately best served playing 1C minutes in Hartford but I don't think it's a stretch to see him get ~15-17 minutes a night with the Rangers.

Interesting, never saw a breakdown of his points per month like this. Can only comment on what I saw as an observer. Perhaps game to game consistency, since as you mentioned Sens fans have this perception of him.
